Over its history, Oregon has gone through several changes, in almost every dimension. At one point, it encompassed what is now British Colombia, Washington, Idaho, modern day Oregon, as well as parts of Montana and Wyoming. Early on, explorers and fur traders populated the area, in addition to the numerous Native tribes living all over the northwest.
